Basic Philadelphia Trash Collection Information can be found here (link broken).

Philadelphia now collects trash and recycling materials (mixed paper, cardboard, metal, plastics #1 and #2) on the same day. Detailed recycling information can be found at the RecyclingPays.Phila.gov website.

Bella Vista’s trash/recycling pick up day is typically every Thursday. However, trash/recycling pick up shifts a day later—from Thursday to Friday for Bella Vista—if a major holiday occurs during that week.

NOTE: Do not put your trash out before 7pm the night before trash day, and make sure your trash, bags and cans are secure so as not to fall apart or be scattered by wind, vandals or animals.

To find out your trash and recycling pick up schedule, visit the CityMaps website:

  • Go to http://citymaps.phila.gov
  • Click on "Service Areas"
  • Read the "Terms of Use and Disclaimer," click "I Agree"
  • Enter your address, then click "Find"
